Kate got a taste (literally) of the big girl world this weekend. She tried her first bites of oatmeal cereal. We hadn't intended to feed her solids until closer to six months, but after a couple of weeks of having her grab at anything that's food in our hands with a gaping open mouth and tracking the food all the way to our mouths, we decided maybe she was ready. And was she. She nearly attacked the spoon trying to get it into her mouth for the first time. Later that morning, we discovered her first tooth breaking through her gums!

After she settled down a bit, she started to get the hang of it.

Yay Kate! Glad you have discovered the joys of one of my favorite pastimes! (Eating, not cutting teeth.)
